WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW!! (page 5)
Sheri (Sharon Baynton) Varner  8/20/24

Hi, I'm Sheri (Sharon Baynton) Varner, class of Central 1959 and native of TC
After graduation I married Chuck Varner,  a marine vet and northwestern college student.
While I was a housewife with three children, we moved all over Michigan with Chucks jobs.

First a Birmingham fireman, then a conservation officer living in Grand Marais, Munising , Roscommon and Houghton Lake. Moving back to TC for retirement in 1998.

My career in advertising started with the Grand Marais Pilot, continuing to Roscommon Herald, Becoming a 20 year real Estate Broker in Roscommon, retiring in 1998.

We are the lucky grand parents of 5 and great grand parents of 4.

Dear classmates,

My husband (Tom Morgan) and I still live in Sarasota, Florida and have no plans to move.  Tom has had some health problems lately and the hospitals here are supurb.  I am doing fine, but have not been able to travel as I love to do.  I hope to make it to TC sometime in the near future.
Oh, I spend my time needling pointing and have made some lovely pictures, pillows, etc.  Other than that, not much new here.  Mary Jane McCool Morgan

Garry.. I do not know whom to credit for this? but can best describe my life with: "THE GIFT OF YEARS"

"The old have long ago exhausted both the wanting, the going, and the striving.
They are immersed in being.

Being alive, being healthy, being present to the moment, being who they are, being happy, being young again in delight and vision."

I am very grateful for a large, happy family, for an active life.
I paddle on a lake every day (almost) in summer, float for hours in the afternoons.
Retreat to a pool in the winters
Still teach water safety/swimming. When ask.

Keep up with 2 terriers, who earn their name of independence!

Host Holidays. Explore wine and food pairings, this summer, especially fun with ice cream!

Follow my grandchildren's activities - young people now with incredible interests, talents! I find this to be a wonderful chapter in life.

Hello to Classmates, much love and good wishes! Cannot imagine a better place to have grown-up than Traverse City!

My husband David and I live in a lovely retirement community in Palm Desert CA.It does get very hot in the summer but memories of cold winter mornings makes it easy to enjoy. We have family here; a son, his wife and two grandsons and a another son and grandson in Texas. I enjoy aquatic exercise classes, walking, reading, a ladies coffee group( no meetings) and still like to bake. After many years of teaching, my son likes me to volunteer in his 4th grade class room which is fun and makes me forget how old I am! Love and Greetings To All, Noreen

Hi Garry, there haven't been many changes in our lives since we were at the last reunion. We did move back to Hubbard to be closer to our daughter. Don still misses his animals. I am still volunteering at the church as the secretary. We are kept busy going to horse shows, volleyball and basketball games to watch my granddaughter. The boys are all out of school. Can't wait to see everyone.

I have 4 grandchildren,  my oldest and youngest are married. I have no great grand children yet.  My health is very good. I go dancing, I travel, I exercise. I'm very active.  I go to Mexico in the winter.  I'm looking forward to seeing you at the reunion.
